Melissa Genovese

Who I am

I am a passionate cybersecurity specialist, having graduated from Collin College with a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity with a GPA of 3.98 magna cum laude.

My education

Through my coursework learning about cybersecurity, I have worked hands-on with routers and switches, performing various networking tasks using CLI. I have learned Python and created my own Pygame, governance, threats, and threat actors, become well-versed with AWS products and services, information assurance and security.

My senior class project was developing and implementing an enterprise information security program plan utilizing Microsoft Azure.

My experience

I am currently working as a VoIP Analyst and enjoying learning and troubleshooting different VoIP technologies and the SIP protocol.

I have worked as a sales consultant for major telecommunication organizations in the past and learned about various mobile and IoT devices and technologies such as Blue tooth, GSM, TDMA, IOS, and Android while maintaining excellent customer service and troubleshooting.

I am also a motivated self-starter as well and learned GIS on my own, working in the natural gas industry.
